Last year saw the successful negotiation of agreements with the National Ballet of Canada, Alberta Ballet, Royal Winnipeg Ballet, and Second City, as well as the introduction of the Senior Artist Program. 2024 will be focused on the renegotiation of the Canadian Theatre Agreement and the Stratford Addendum to the CTA.
Equity members who have worked under an agreement or policy listed below are encouraged to contribute to the negotiation or review process. Your experience working under these agreements is invaluable to the negotiation process in determining what advancements are needed.

THEATRE AGREEMENT NEGOTIATIONS
Canadian Theatre Agreement
Expiry Date: June 23, 2024
Pre-negotiation discussions have commenced and affected Equity members have been participating in focus groups. As a mirror agreement of the CTA, Equity members who have worked under the Independent Theatre Agreement (ITA) have participated in the focus groups and proposal submission process as well. Negotiations are set to commence in early 2024. Suggestions should be submitted no later than December 31, 2023.
Stratford Addendum to the CTA
Expiry Date: November 30, 2024
Pre-negotiation discussions will commence following the ratification of the CTA. Affected Equity members will be consulted directly. Suggestions should be submitted no later than April 30.

ENGAGEMENT POLICIES UNDER REVIEW
INDIE 2.2
Review of the INDIE 2.2, which commenced in 2023, remains ongoing and will be completed in 2024. While we have already received a good amount of feedback, any new suggestions should be submitted no later than March 29, 2024. A new Policy will be released as soon as staff resources and scheduling permit.
Dance Opera Theatre Policy (DOT)
Expiry Date: January 5, 2025
The DOT will be reviewed in 2024 for a new DOT to come into effect January 6, 2025. Suggestions should be submitted no later than May 30, 2024.
The current policies remain in effect until new policies are released.
Equity's Council Policies necessitate consultation with members affected by agreements and/or policies in advance of negotiation and/or review.
