Equity is pleased to announce the launch of
So You’re a Choreographer Who’s Been Offered a Contract, a handy checklist of important elements to consider when working as a choreographer. The tip sheet, created by Equity’s Directors, Choreographers, Fight Directors, and Intimacy Directors Committee (DCFID), joins the recently released
Director Tip Sheet in a resource series that will provide guidance for members working in each of the Committee’s disciplines.
"We wanted to make this tip sheet to share things we wish we knew when we started, as well as reminders of what we already know - like time management, expectations, and the opportunity (or chance) and courage (or power) to negotiate," said choreographers Nicola Pantin and Allison Plamondon. "While collaborating on this tip sheet, we learned from each other's experiences and we hope that there are choreographers - both new and veteran - that will benefit from this checklist as well."
So You’re a Choreographer Who’s Been Offered a Contract, can be found on the new
DCFID resource page of Equity’s website, along with the Director Tip Sheet and Intimacy Director resources. Feel free to copy, keep, forward, and share the guide with anyone who could use it – like your students, colleagues, and friends. And if posting on socials, please tag it with #EquityChoreographers so we know how it’s getting out!
